Apps for Self-Care, Mindfulness, and Meditation
Hello friends! I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday morning and weekend.
One thing I've noticed about this generation, and I'm assuming you guys have too, is that we are always using our mobile devices. We use them for our calendar, contacting people, finding out the news, games, social media, and just connecting with the world around us. I kept this in mind while I was coming up with ideas of things to post, and boom! The Apps for Self-Care idea was created.
Truth is, there are plenty of ways to care for yourself via your phone. There's everything from yoga apps to meditations to sleep apps (one of which I'm going to talk about today.
So let's get started.
Apps for Self-Care, Mindfulness and Meditation
1. Stop, Breathe & Think-I mentioned this app in my first post, and let me tell you, I'm in love with it. Stop, Breathe & Think is a meditation app that features several different types if meditations for a very low price. There's a check-in feature, where the app asks you how you're doing today (mentally and physically) and bases the type of meditation you should do on that. There is also a guide on how to meditate that included a description of each meditation, and a calendar to track how many times you've meditated that week. It's a great app for just slowing down and focusing. Stop, Breathe & Think is free on the App Store and fot Android with a few in-app meditation purchases (optional).
2. Chill- Chill is a mindfulness app that features quotes about mindfulness from various people such as Buddha, Emily Dickinson, William Blake and Thich Nhat Hanh. The app also sends you various mindfulness reminders throughout the day that remind you to take time and be in the present moment. It has truly helped my mindfulness and changed how I think about the present. My favorite reminder I've ever received is "All is well in this moment. Let the present make you smile." I highly suggest this app for those of you who rush through life and wish to focus on the present. Chill is free on the app store.
3. Yoga Studio- Okay, so if you're a yogi (or a yogini) like me, this app is wonderful for you, and if you're not, it's a great place to start. Yoga Studio is an app that features several yoga sessions and poses, with lessons on how to do each pose, and which poses are beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I LOVE this app, you guys. I do the 15 minute Morning Stretches session every morning, and not only does it wake me up, but it also alleviates the back pain I built up in my sleep. It's perfect for every kind of yoga, whether you're just starting out or you can do a scorpion in your sleep (I don't recommend trying that, but you know what I mean). Yoga Studio is 3.99 on the app store.
I hope these apps will help you on your journey to mindfulness and relaxation. Enjoy, and as always, feel free to email me with any questions.
Have a lovely day,
Hannah
